“Evolving” by MONSTER Exhibition – Berlin meets Tokyo
German / English
What is your MONSTER?
Originally inspired by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, MONSTER Exhibition began with the Kaiju—a Japanese symbol of nature’s dual power to destroy and create. Today, the “Monster” has evolved into a mirror of our internal landscapes. It reflects inner turmoil, ecological instability, and social anxiety.
In this 13th edition, Berlin meets Tokyo at the historic Kunstquartier Bethanien. Artists from two distinct cultures converge to explore the theme of “Evolving.” What does it mean to transform? We invite you to witness the evolution of the Monster as it becomes a symbol of hope, rebirth, and our collective future.
