Using forms and materials that evoke gentleness and affection,
this work is arranged without intentional restraint.
As certain emotions or structures accumulate and overlap,
they begin to transform into a different tactile sensation.
Affection can, at times, take on weight.
Artist Statement:
For me, “kawaii” isn’t a concept but an impulse.
My work begins with the sudden surprise of something feeling kawaii.
I care less about interpretation than the instant a response arises in the viewer.
Using soft, tactile materials and knitted forms,
I create moments where people unconsciously draw closer,
while expanding materials and scale to connect personal sensations with others and space.
