Description:
Acrylic and water-based paints are layered to form a paint film that functions as a support, onto which elements drawn from everyday life are depicted. In this work, a translucent fabric is fashioned into curtain-like forms and deployed in the space as the support.
Artist Statement:
In Japan, it has long been believed that objects used over time come to possess a soul. Through traces such as rooms once inhabited, furniture once used, lingering warmth and scent, and the scratches and stains formed through repeated use, I aim to evoke the presence of the former owners.
