Artist Statement:
Manga, originating from nihonga, simplifies observed forms and expresses time within a single image. Drawn to this depth, I study nihonga. Influenced by fighting figures in manga and warriors in traditional painting from my childhood, I depict struggling figures to offer hope and create art that feels close to the viewer.
