Not everything can be fully grasped. Even if I’ve seen it, I cannot bring back the memory as a record.
I attempt to vaguely revive those dead records through reality, transforming them into pictorial expressions.
Artist Statement:
I paint what needs to be painted and avoid painting what is better left unpainted. I approach the act of painting without retreating into the notion of a “pictorial existence.” It is the texture and detail etched into my memory.
My work is rooted in realism, yet it need not be realistic.
