Description:
I have a strong interest in the evolution of life and the complex and diverse forms it produces.
Approximately 4 billion years have passed since life first emerged on Earth. Throughout this long history, a truly diverse array of organisms has arisen, ingeniously adapting their body structures and functions to thrive in their environments.
If life were to emerge on a planet different from Earth, could such diversification of forms truly occur? And if it could, what meaning would the emergence and diversification of life hold within this universe?
The work “Morphe” exhibited here depicts a lifeform born on a planet distinct from Earth, having undergone its own unique evolution. Simultaneously, it is a work that questions the potential and significance of life’s existence within the cosmos.
Artist Statement;
As a child, I was captivated by the diverse colors, shapes, and behaviors of plants and animals, freely expressing creatures of my imagination using paints and clay.
Today, I create sculptures themed around “mysterious beings that evolved uniquely on other planets or in outer space, distinct from life on Earth.”
Somewhere in the cosmos, beings far beyond human imagination or
preconceptions may quietly exist. With this hope and longing, I explore new forms of life that dwell within my own imagination.
