1986年生まれ。東京出身。幼少期をアメリカで過ごし、高校卒業と同時に渡英。ロンドン芸術大学、Chelsea college of arts and designにてFine art科を専攻、次席で卒業。
ソフトスカルプチャーを使いインタラクティブな作品と抽象的なドローイングを主に、相対するリアリティ（肉体）とファンタジーをコンセプトに制作する。
Mayumi Yamase’s serene amoebic sculptures are simultaneously alien and comforting. Their vague relation to the animal kingdom is occasionally emphasized when the gentle pastel colour palette is dissected to reveal the intestines and guts of what must be some kind of organic form. All of her work is infected with a benign and unique life.
