Jorinde Voigt is a Berlin-based multidisciplinary visual artist, known for exploring perception, structure, and emotion through intricate drawings that resemble musical scores or scientific data, with important works including series like “Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas,” “STAAT/Random,” “Piece for Words and Views,” and pieces focusing on philosophical concepts like trust.
Her work visualizes abstract ideas and internal processes, translating them into a unique visual language that combines mathematical precision with expressive gestures, making her a significant figure in contemporary German art, with major exhibitions in Berlin and globally. Voigt’s work is featured in prominent public collections worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), New York, Centre Pompidou, Paris, Berlin State Museums, The British Museum, London, Art Institute of Chicago, The Morgan Library & Museum, New York.
Her constant participation in major biennials and international Art Fairs such as Art Miami cement her global stature. In parallel with her artistic practice, she was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 2014 to 2019, and since 2019 she has been Professor
of Conceptual Drawing and Painting at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg.
